Yay! Shannon saves my blog-blocked day with her somewhat regular edition of Knowing You Knowing Me. Do join in with comments or with official play and linky so that I know that someone reads this thing from time to time. (My inner narcissist seems to be clambering for attention again.)
1. Do you consider yourself a foodie?
Well, not a big foodie but I really do like to eat good food. That would be why my middle is expanding and I can’t say no to fresh baked goods or stuff with chocolate in it. I am getting more particular though. I’ll take dark chocolate over milk chocolate prefer to dine on meals that take longer than 10 minutes to make. Does that count? And I am taking my very first real cooking course in a month at Urban Element – both exciting and terrifying. But they serve wine so I’m sure it will all work out.
2. Are you a spender or a saver?
Hmmm. I’m not sure as I am not good at either. Probably more of a spender but my guilt keeps me from spending oodles of money on myself. I can buy tons of useless things for the kids, no problem. I think I need to work on that. Luckily my DH does a good job with the saving and anything requiring responsibility. Otherwise my procrastinator ways would get me in deep doo-doo.
3. What was the last movie you saw?
Watched “Becoming Jane” last night with my mom. ‘Twas rather P&P-ish – no surprise. However, a lovely diversion and the sort of movie I don’t mind watching with my mom when she’s been visiting for several days and I have run out of sensible conversation.
4. What is the closest book to you?
Does the Cub Handbook count? Being mom-of-the-year, I am working on making Owen earn another badge. It is a lot of work for me having him in Cubs! Reading Left Neglected for a book club which is the book on my bedside table, a little further away.
5. Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?
Sort of. We aren’t Irish but it is tons of fun to wear green, drink a brew and sing Irish shanties. We have somehow started a tradition of having the kids do a treasure hunt throughout the house and find clues to a “ pot of gold” – a black bag filled with chocolate coins and other dollar store crap. Fun to watch the enthusiasm. We ate green stuff (mostly veggies) last night and I bought little St. Paddy’s day cupcakes to amuse them.
How about you? What would you answer to these questions? Do comment below.
